Before moving to Methuen and finding St. Monica Parish, my husband and I attended other churches, but we didn’t feel part of a community. Through some difficult times in life and feeling lost, I realized I was disconnected from God and what was really missing was a deeper relationship with Him.

Being part of St. Monica Parish has opened new friendships with wonderful people and families. I’ve realized God has called me to bring my family closer to Him.
To remind my family what matters most in life and what matters least. We are part of a community and we feel thankful and blessed.

Chung and I have been married for over 30 years. My wife became Catholic after our youngest child was born. We would attend Sunday Mass with the children at the parish where I grew up but when we moved to Methuen 25 years ago we began looking for a Catholic church to attend. When we visited St. Lucy, we both felt at home here immediately and chose to raise our family within this community. It takes me a while to feel comfortable in a new environment but St. Lucy’s felt like home on our first visit.
We were no longer satisfied with just attending Mass and all of us took part in different ministries at the parish. I have always felt that St. Lucy’s reflects the family community that a parish should be.
